Fishing Boat must Be Checked at Shipyard Once a Year

The all fishermen in Seribu Islands must bring their boats to conduct maintenance at the shipyard once a year as an effort to ensure the security and safety of the boat.

After conducting maintenance, they (fishermen) will get a covering letter. The letter is used as boat filling renewal requirement

"After conducting maintenance, they (fishermen) will get a covering letter. The letter is used as boat filling renewal requirement," said Sutrisno, Head of Seribu Islands Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Sub-dept, Monday (6/20).

He explained, the shipyard can be found in Sebira Island, which is only dedicated to fishing boat measuring 3-10 Grass Tonnage (GT). There is only one track thus other boats should queue up to four until five days, depending on damage level.

"Additional track will be allocated next year. Thus the shipyard could serve two units at the same time," he expressed.

Sutrisno explains fishing boat 3-10 GT processing can be done in one-stop integrated service (PTSP) with recommendation of Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Sub-dept. While for big-sized ship for passenger and fishing boat 10 GT, its processing is issued by Port Employee and Authority Office (KSOP).
